Production to export
Production becomes useful supply only when it can reach a buyer. Pipelines, storage and export capacity connect a producing field to the next part of the chain. Regional production figures alone do not show whether a particular cargo can depart.
The marine link
Separate the cargo purchase from the freight commitment, voyage, terminal slot and discharge. A route comparison needs a consistent volume and cost boundary. Our cargo exercise assumes no physical loss and one financed cost basis for the full voyage.
Storage and optionality
An alternative route can change cost and arrival time. Available inventory can provide a temporary buffer, but working stock, inaccessible volumes and minimum operating reserve all affect how much can actually be drawn.
An operational question
Which dependency would change the decision first? Write down the route, the timing uncertainty, the receiving facility and the evidence needed to rely on an alternative. Use the inventory tool to test a stated interruption assumption.
